Below are step by step instructions on how to use the content replacement of AddonChat X to display custom emoticons. It might be helpful to have an image hosting service if you don't have a web host or can't host them on your wen site.
1. Click the Look & Feel tab then Add Replacement 2. In source Content place the desired trigger like lol, :hammer, :wave, etc. 3. In Replacement place the URL location of the image 4. Click "Create" 5. After "Create" you'll see a new window with tabs. It will open by default to the tab "Replacement Content". While here in Replacement Type, select "Emoticon (entire URL)" 6. Click the tab that says "Source Content" and under Source Matching Method select "Match any location in message". 7. Save Changes and you're done.
Emoticon displays too small in the chat? If you must have a larger display of the desired image in your chat then in step 5 above select Image rather than Emoticon but the emoticon will not appear in your Emoji tray and must be triggered by manually typing the trigger in the message.

Sound to be Triggered with Emoji:You may also include a sound to be triggered with your emoji when it is displayed but it must be in mp3 format to work properly. If you want the sound to be used simultaneously with your emoji use the same trigger. Look & Feel/tab>>Add Replacement Source Content/tab>>Source Content:(enter desired trigger), Source Matching Method: Whole word, Search Order: 1 Replacement Content/tab>>Replacement Content/URL: (URL location of the mp3 file), Replacement Type: Sound (enter URL of sound file) Always remember to save settings at each tab.
